About the Ceremony
Our Community Salutes of Connecticut hosted its inaugural Enlistee Recognition Ceremony honoring the Class of 2024 high school seniors and their families on May 18, 2024.
Speakers included:
- Major General Fran Evon, The Adjutant General, Connecticut Military Department
- Brigadier General Ron Welch (USA, Ret.), Commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs
- Command Master Chief Gary Stephenson, Naval Submarine Base, New London
- Master of Ceremonies: Renee DiNino, Director of Community Affairs & On-Air Programming for iHeartMedia in Connecticut, the midday host on The River 105.9, and host of an hour-long syndicated talk show on all 10 CT iHeartRadio stations.
Music was provided by the 102nd Army Band, the official band of the Connecticut Army National Guard.
